H O W  T O  A P P L Y

The Bay Area Leadership Selection Committee reviews all applications and makes decisions regarding candidates accepted into the program. To be considered for the program, each applicant must submit the following:

  • Application and Tuition Form - with appropriate signatures and tuition payment information
  • Resume - including professional and community experience
  • Biography - 100 word narrative to be released later to fellow participants
  • Four essay questions:

    1. Leadership Experience: Describe one of your leadership experiences. What happened, how did you make a difference and what did you learn?
    2. Bay Area Challenges: In your opinion, what are three significant challenges jointly facing the communities of Burlington and Hamilton? Select one of them and expand its impact on the bay area.
    3. Personal Leadership Development: What is a competency and what personal leadership competencies do you wish to develop or enhance?
    4. Bay Area Commitment: How will the community benefit from your experience in the Bay Area Leadership program?

  • Letter of support - obtained from a third party stating yout suitability for the program
  • Selection Interview - to be arranged and conducted upon receipt of complete application

T u i t i o n


The cost of tuition for Bay Area Leadership is $2,800.00 (subject to change) which includes shared accommodations at the Leadership Connections retreats, all Community Days and program materials. Tuition is to be paid in full prior to the Opening Retreat.
Tuition may be paid in one of three ways:
  • you may pay the entire amount
  • you and your employer may share the costs
  • your employer may assume the full amount
Financial Aid
Limited aid is available for organizations demonstrating need. Your request will be reviewed during the selection process and you will be notified of your status prior to your first Leadership Connections Retreat.
